3rd Quarter Submission Feedback

The film we sent in for quarter 3 is very similar to our last submission. However, we re-filmed it, and critiqued the script. The location is still at McDonald's, however we took out the scene where the two actors were in the car and discussing what they just did. We believed that that scene was a little repetitive and unnecessary for the film. The opening scene is now at McDonald's instead, and we do not switch locations. The plot now contains more action with the two characters running around McDonald's pretending to be spies. Some feedback that was suggested for our film, was that the ending still ends very abruptly. We could add some kind of closure or hint on what the film will continue to be. Another suggestion, that we received was the way it was filmed. The camera was a little fuzzy and shaky, so we will probably have to re film and make the video more clear, and easy to watch. Lastly, a suggestion made was the background noise. When we were filming, there was Irish music playing in the restaurant, so that ended up in the film. It was kind of funny, however, it did not go too well with the film.

CCR Draft #4

In this project I integrated Software, Hardware, and online. I went online and used the internet to my advantage. I researched movies (mostly comedies) to get some ideas for the plot of the film project. Another thing that was researched was the type of distributions, movie box offices, and how to make a film in general. It has been a huge help and is the main source to my knowledge of film making. Research has made a huge impact on what I know about filming, and with out it, I probably would have never been able to even do this project. The Software used for the film is iMovie. I remember learning how to use this program in elementary school, for a project as well. However, I completely forgot how it works. Luckily, one of my group members, Sienna, was able to do most of the editing, and I am very grateful for that. There is still some editing needed to be done for the film, but I think this project is off to a great start.

CCR Draft #3

My production skills developed through this project by increasing my knowledge on how films produced. While writing my blogs, I had to do tons of research, to learn more about the filming process. For instance, I never realized the different ways films are produced. They can be digitally distributed or Traditionally distributed. Some films are distributed both ways. Other stuff I went online for is to learn more about film production, and how much profit certain movies made. The most money made movies, are usually the ones that are made with sequels. For instance, Guardians of the Galaxy, Men in Black, and Star Wars. After getting ideas, and knowledge on how these films were produced, I then tried filming my groups film. My role in this group was to film Keatin, the "side kick" from different angles. I was also in the film, for just a few seconds. After trying it out myself, I realized that filming is very meticulous and can be kind of confusing at times. I was trying to get in a couple of different camera shots in while Keatin was acting. So  I did some close ups, over the shoulder, and a wide shot. I learned the camera shots have to flow with the way the film is going. For instance, when Keatin is crushing on Andrew, I did a close up on his face, to show case his feelings towards Andrew with out any background distractions. The project was filmed on location, so while we were trying to video tape, the actors in McDonald's, there was Irish music playing in the background. At first I was like what do we do now? But after watching it back, I think the background music added even more humor to the film, and turned out perfect for the tone of the film.

CCR Draft #2

This product engages with audiences by making them laugh, and it allows the characters to be relate-able. Many kids liked to play "spy" when they were younger. Chasing people, using walkie-talkies and just playing pretend can bring up that kind of Nostalgia. Two guys that are pretending to be spies, and having loads of fun is the main plot. They are obviously using empty fry cups as their means of communication and they are trying to act like the situation is intense, when in real life, its all fake. It is a great example to set for kids who just want to have fun and be awkward, with out feeling like your weird or "uncool". As a real media text, this film would be distributed digitally. This is because this method would be a lot faster, and require less money, to get out into the public.
